After nearly two years of investigating the 1/6 incident, Democrats want to charge Trump with a dereliction of duty to perform his job as President of the United States. Did Trump derelict his duty? Of course, but every single Democrat and Republican in Congress derelicts their duty to uphold the Constitution. Do not get me wrong, I like the dereliction of duty standard. But everyone, not just Trump needs to be held to this standard. After all, every congressional member takes an oath to uphold the Constitution. Case in point, Democrats response to weaponize the FBI to get Trump using any means possible is no better than anything that Trump has done. The FBI has gone after Trump and his associates using fictitious materials as a basis for warrants. Moreover, the raid on Trump’s home used a warrant that was broad and had no limits on what the FBI could search or confiscate. This behavior should scare everyone. I agree, no one is above the law, but if the FBI can do this to a former President, they can do it to everyone. We mustn’t lose sight on the fact that the scope and mission of federal statutes and regulations have expanded to cover nearly a half a million items. Make no mistake, everyone in the United States is guilty of violating some federal law or regulation. If the federal government does not like you, you can go to jail. The so-called Inflation Reduction Act is nothing more than a government power grab to weaponize the IRS and to pick winners and losers in the energy sector. That is right, if the FBI does not have the resources to go after all their enemies, the IRS is being armed to pick up the slack. If you made a mistake on your taxes, you may receive the full wrath of the IRS.
More government equates to less freedom and Liberty for citizens to practice their fundamental rights. Thus, the solution is easy. We must not only downsize the IRS and FBI; we must abolish them. There are no grants of power in the Constitution for these institutions. The federal government has the responsibility for protecting national security and those functions can be handled by the CIA or ICE. Local crimes can be handled by local jurisdictions. Yes, the Sixteenth Amendment provides the federal government the right to tax income. But Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution provides that tax rates should be equal, and the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment claims that property (money) can only be taken from private citizens for public use, not for public or private benefit. Thus, a majority of taxes are unconstitutional. Implementing a national sales tax on goods and services would solve two problems: It would eliminate the need for the IRS, and it would follow Article I, Section 8 to tax everyone equally. For federal taxes to be Constitutional, the next step would be to limit federal government spending to comprise of only grants of power permitted by the Constitution and end those institutions and policies that violate the Constitution. For instance, ending social security, welfare, and the departments of agriculture, education, energy, health and human services, and the environmental protection agency to name a few. These functions can be handled by each individual state.
